Barium Sulfate is mostly used to diagnose or to find issues in the oesophagus, stomach, and bowels. It is a radiographic contrast agent that is used to create a clear picture of the different parts of the body. These are given only by or under the direct supervision of a doctor. Barium Sulfate is frequently used clinically as a contrast agent for X-ray imaging of the gastrointestinal tract. It is administered, orally or by enema, as a suspension of fine particles in an aqueous solution.
